SEND
Welcome to our wonderful primary school where children are proud, positive and polite.
My interest in supporting children with additional needs has developed over the course of my career where I have held many roles. I began as a classroom teacher leading many curriculum areas including science, history, geography and EAL strategic lead supporting those with English as an addition language. I then moved into a leadership role leading a base for children with social, emotional and mental health needs.
I have many years of experience working with children with additional needs and have developed my knowledge and strategies over my career. My experience with SEMH and having completed an NPQ in Leading Behaviour and Culture has meant that I have developed the knowledge and skills to provide an inclusive environment for learning, giving children the opportunity to thrive in school and deal with challenging situations proactively.
At present, my role at Wollescote is Assistant Head Teacher and SENCo. This means I help to coordinate the support and provision for children with any additional needs across the school from Nursery to Year 6 and beyond, including transitions to secondary education. I really enjoy working with children and staff across the school setting including our nurture classroom and take a leading role in supporting a positive behaviour culture within our school.
Our school community is very important to me and, as a member of the senior leadership team, I will strive to maintain positive connections, supporting our children and families as they move through their time at Wollescote.
If you have any questions or you would like to discuss our provision further, please contact the school office to arrange a meeting.
Thank you,
Mrs C Sankey

We aim to help you to make informed, positive choices and decisions by bringing together the range of services and support on offer across Dudley Borough, including details on how to access them. There is a wealth of information on areas such as education, health and social care, training and employment, leisure and support to prepare you for adulthood.
Dudley’s Local Offer includes information and services for children and young people with the most complex of needs and with an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP), as well as children and young people who have less complex needs but their additional needs mean they require Special Educational Needs (SEN) support.
