Promoting British Values
Fundamental British values are woven into our curriculum at Wollescote. Not only do we respect British values and believe in them, we actively promote them across the school through:
- Assembly themes that focus on how democracy and the law works in Britain, in contrast to other forms of government in other countries
- The democratic voting in of the student council and the work that the student council undertakes to ensure that all pupils within the school have a voice that is listened to
- The breadth of the RE curriculum which allows pupils to understand a range of faiths.
All staff are expected to uphold and promote the fundamental principles of British values:
Democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.
