On Monday 8th October, Wayne McDonald, a Commonwealth Gold Medallist attended Wollescote Primary School to talk and demonstrate the sport of Judo. The children were thrilled to have such a highly respected and trained athlete come into our school. They thrived from the energy, and laughed hysterically when both Mrs Petchey and Mr Horton were used during demonstrations. The purpose of the assembly, was to inspire children to get involved in a different sport, and have the confidence to try and learn something new.

Friday 16th November- CHILDREN IN NEED 2018!

On Friday 16th November, Wollescote welcomed hundreds of ducks to school (pretend ones) to be raced on our very own slip and slide. The children thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were thrilled to take part. Alongside this, Mrs Petchey and the sports council team organised a fun-filled lunchtime with decorate the duck, arts and crafts, dance and music, penalty shoot out and dodgeball. What a fantastic day! Well done to all the staff that helped out- in particular Mr Horton and Mr Brookes for making the lunchtime such a great success!

Wednesday 14th November 2018- Year 1 and 2 Multi Skills Competition

On the above date, Mr Brookes and Mr Horton attended Leasowes School to participate in a multi skills competition. The 10 year 1 and 2 children have been practicing really hard on Tuesday's after school, in preparation for the competition. The children performed really well and came a very respectable 7th out of a possible 13 schools. Mr Horton and Mr Brookes are immensely proud! Huge well done to each and everyone one of you.

Friday 30th November 2018 - Primary School Swimming Gala

Last Friday, Mr Brookes & Mrs Petchey took eight children from the swimming squad to the Primary Swimming gala at Halesowen Leisure Centre. Competing against nine other schools, with most having swimming club swimmers, the children performed amazingly completing one length of the pool which was 33m long and 4m deep! For most of our squad this was the first time competing in such a big pool, and also not forgetting our two year 2 boys who were competing against year 5 & 6 children. Mr Brookes & Mrs Petchey were incredibly proud of all the children who competed and shows the amazing progress that all of the swimming squad have shown.

This week the children have been completing an OAA Christmas Challenge where they hunt for Christmas baubles. When they have found all 9, they continue to their final clue where a Christmas Present is revealed... What's inside..... HO HO HO! Enjoy your SURPRISE!
